Citrus Facts

Fresh Citrus Juice
Because no artificial agents are added, fresh squeezed citrus juice will naturally separate. Shake or stir juice before serving if juice has settled.

Cold Juice
Cold citrus produces cold juice. Even hours after citrus is removed from cold storage to room temperature, they produce cool juice because the peel is a natural insulator.

Green Fruit
Green fruit peelings does not necessarily mean that the citrus fruit is not ripe. The peel color depends on the growing climate. When the weather is cooler, the peeling is orange-yellow color. When the nights are warmer, the peeling of ripe fruit may have more of a greenish tint. The greenish tint has no effect on the juice.

  Ripe Fruit
Citrus does not ripen off the tree.

Citrus Storage
Citrus boxes should be stored off the floor for better air circulation and inventory should always be rotated.

Fruit Count
When referring to citrus sizes, "count" refers to the approximate number of fruit in a box.

Standard Sizes
Florida ships oranges, tangerines, and tangelos in 100 count boxes (there are 100 fruit per box). California & Texas ship oranges in 113 count boxes (113 fruit per box).
